Nine players and six coaches from Marysville and the area have been nominated for Sports In Kansas honors ranging from offensive and defensive player of the year to coach of the year.

In 3A, Jack Lauer, Marysville, is a candidate for player of the year. Lauer, a 6-2 senior guard, helped to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 runner-up finish in the state tournament. He scored 26 points in the state tournament and finished the season with 380 points. He had 86 rebounds, 45 steals, two blocks and took 21 charges. He had 57 assists.
