Brooklyn Kling, Marysville, returns a backhand volley during a singles match last Thursday.

Marysville girls’ tennis coach Mary Kessinger-Wassom tried different combinations and got five team points and fifth place Saturday in the Smoky Valley tournament.

Kayla Spurgeon, who usually plays doubles with Grace Schroller, was at No. 1 singles instead. Shea Kramer teamed with Schroller for No. 1 doubles. Rose Latta was at No. 2 singles and Alicia Housley and Mikayla Sanchez were No. 2 doubles.
