Valley Heights girls stifled a late Marysville comeback attempt in the fourth quarter to win 49-40 Tuesday in non-league basketball action.

Marysville, which trailed by as much as 10 points early in the fourth, got within 40-38 from a pair of Eva Peschel free throws with 3 minutes to play. Madison Ronnebaum tied the game at 40 with a layup. Heights used the remaining 2:14 to put together a 9-0 run.
