Hanover boys’ basketball coach Cory Jensen isn’t an advocate of the current postseason format for 1A schools, because there is too much down time.

Hanover, the No. 2 seed in the Axtell sub-state, and the No. 1 AHS Eagles had first-round byes. Hanover hasn’t played since Feb. 17. Axtell last played Feb. 21. Both teams will play Friday at Axtell. Hanover, 16-5, will face No. 6 Wetmore, 7-12, at 6 p.m. Axtell, 17-4, has No. 5 Linn, 9-11, another team that has not played since Feb. 20, because Olathe-Kansas School for the Deaf forfeited its sub-state game.
