Grady Buessing, Axtell, is a four-event state qualifier heading into this weekend's 1A state track meet in Wichita.
Axtell boys won 10 track and field events and the 1A regional last Thursday in Mankato with 141 points to put the Eagles in contention for a 1A title this weekend at state in Wichita.
“As a whole, they did an amazing job and performed like they have all year,” said AHS coach Jayson Tynon. “Winning 10 events at the regional meet isn’t an easy task. It speaks to the quality of the athletes that we have at Axtell and their hard work not only during track season but during summer weights and conditioning.”
