Hanover never ran out of options during the week-long Twin Valley League girls’ basketball tournament at Washington County and that led the Wildcats to first place.
Hanover defeated Doniphan West, 71-61, Monday in the championship game. To get to the title game, Hanover won a pair of 49-32 games against Valley Heights and Clifton-Clyde last week. Doniphan West advanced with a 50-41 win over Centralia and 54-24 against Washington County. In other tournament final games Monday, Frankfort defeated Linn, 47-35, for seventh, and Valley Heights defeated Centralia, 42-24, for fifth. On Saturday, Axtell lost to Onaga, 56-29 in a consolation game.
