Reading an article in a business magazine the other day about consumer spending re-bounding in the luxury and high-end sector of the economy made me smile in reminiscence of my foray into the luxury book market.

First of all, there is no such thing as a “luxury” book for the one in 13 people who love to read and buy books regularly or even semi-regularly. Yes, as prices go up we will wait for the paperback or go put our name on the list at the library for the latest best seller, but we readers have a secret weapon; we share titles with people we know, and sometimes the book itself.
