Inflation, salaries and essential expenses are behind a slight increase in the proposed $18.4 million budget for Marysville Unified School District 364 for the 2020-21 fiscal year.

Superintendent Michael Couch said there are no major changes in the budget. The increase is about .2 of a mill, for a proposed 58.931 mill levy. For a Marysville resident who owns a $100,000 home, the proposed levy will assess about $678 a year. That is an increase of about $2 from last year.
