After hearing from business owners and representatives of community organizations, Marysville City Council voted unanimously Monday night to move forward in a grant application process for the Seventh Street corridor.
Mike Welch, a member of the Marysville Union Pacific Depot Preservation Society board of directors, told the council there is an opportunity to apply for a large federal grant focused on all the things that appear to be needed on the corridor. He said the amount could range from $500,000 to $10 million as part of the American Rescue Plan Act Program. Other grant applications could be developed from this work, he said. Discussion included street, storm sewer and flood control work, along with tourism development and opportunities.
