Valley Heights students clap to the high school’s fight song Thursday in Mustang Stadium as they celebrate the first of several events marking the school district’s 50th anniversary.
Valley Heights students spent Thursday morning in a stadium washed in sunshine, singing the high school fight song and hearing a bit about their schools’ history.
It was 50 years ago this year that Waterville and Blue Rapids combined to form Valley Heights. Alumni from the consolidated school say it was a good move, even if it was a little difficult at first.
