The Kansas attorney general’s office has opened an investigation into Marshall County commissioners’ closed sessions held in 2019 and 2020 to discuss the county’s contracts with an energy company on the Irish Creek Wind Project.

On March 2, the attorney general’s office sent a letter to county counselor Jason Brinegar asking him to provide further information regarding closed sessions, also called executive sessions, held by commissioners. Brinegar told the board of commissioners on March 15 that he would work to resolve the matter.
