Pauline Sharp, Wichita, portrays her grandmother Chief Lucy, who led the Kanza tribe in the 1920s. The Sunday program drew a crowd of about 90 to the Pony Express Museum in Marysville. The state of Kansas took its name from the Kanza.

Pauline Sharp began to do programs portraying her grandmother, a former Kanza chief, after she took a class at Wichita State University.

Students in the class did not know who Kansas was named after.
