First place at local, state levels

A conservation poster by Holland Shirley, a sixth-grader at Frankfort Elementary School, placed second in national competition.

The Marshall County Conservation District was notified Feb. 10 that Holland’s poster had won recognition at the National Association of Conservation Districts conference in Las Vegas last week. Holland’s poster says “Life in the Soil, Dig Deeper” and features a shovel holding the word “soil.”
