A strong showing in the USSSA 11AA state tournament in Lenexa, Kan., landed the NEK Storm Chasers sixth place out of 42 teams to finish the baseball season.

The Storm Chasers went 2-0 in pool play with a 9-2 win against the Manhattan Wildcats and an 11-2 win over the Wichita Outlaws. The record earned the Chasers the fifth seed for a 21-team bracket. After a first-round bye, NEK went 1-1. The Storm Chasers won 9-1 against the Lenexa Ravens and lost 11-0 to the Hays Hammers, which ended an 18-game winning streak.
