Six games were played Sunday in the slow-pitch league at Bremen.

Tucked behind Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bremen, surrounded by crops and pasture, is a ball diamond that still attracts all ages.

It’s one of the few diamonds that remains active this late in the summer. Baseball and softball season has ended at most of the ball parks in Marshall County and the surrounding area. Yet the Bremen ball field, which is a mile east and two miles north of the town, has a coed slow-pitch softball league to finish and a Lutheran Youth Fellowship tournament to play before Labor Day ends on Sept. 2.
