No matter the circumstances, Axtell has a boys’ cross country team that remains competitive.

The Eagles were without lead runner Quinn Buessing, who sat out to rest an injured leg. The cancellation of a meet in Horton brought in three more teams to Centralia and Axtell hung with the best of them. Rock Creek won with 45 points and Sabetha was second with 50. Jefferson County North was third with 63 and Axtell was next with 73. There were 14 teams competing in the meet. Centralia was 10th with 168, and Frankfort finished last with 257. Valley Heights and Hanover did not field teams.
