Quinn Buessing didn’t have to win the 1A Washington regional cross country meet for Axtell to finish first as a team.

The Eagles tied with Osborne for first with 39 points. However, Axtell broke the tie with a fifth runner. Osborne only had four. Centralia’s Ransom Engelken finished ninth in 18:41.06, and the Panther girls were fourth as a team to qualify for the 1A state meet Saturday in Wamego.
