Gravel Dash

The Stallbaumer family of Axtell had three members in Saturday’s Pony Express 120 Gravel Dash. Together they rode a total 260 miles. From left, Tim of Spring Hill, Mark of Gardner and their father, Mike of Axtell.

Thousands of training miles went into last weekend’s bike and foot races that started from downtown Marysville, resulting over the course of the day in many exhausted but happy runners and riders.

Downtown Marysville bubbled with banter and stretching along the street prior to the new Pony Express Half-Marathon and 5K, a welcomed addition to the weekend’s distance events. St. Gregory’s Catholic School PTO put on a great set of races, drawing more than 100 runners with only a few months’ notice. This event can easily double in size in the near future.
