I have just finished reading a disturbing, but fascinating book by a small town editor from rural Iowa. There are many parallels between his farming community and those of us who live in rural North Central Kansas.

There is one huge difference to note, Art Cullen, the author of “Storm Lake,” won a Pulitzer Prize for his editorials on the pollution of the Raccoon River, which supplies water for Iowa’s capital and largest city, Des Moines.
