We are “looking at a jar that is half full or half empty.” Perspective is everything. After reading the headline on the May 30 front page of the Washington County New, which stated that the Hanover Hospital requested county money to keep the doors open, the board felt that a letter to the editor is necessary to help clarify our motives and relieve the uncertainty or doubt that many individuals must be feeling about what we are actually trying to achieve.

The board members at the county commissioners’ meeting felt at the end of the open meeting that the eight individuals present were clear on what we are trying to achieve for the county, but apparently there was one who felt  some negativity.  The quotes in the article were not inaccurate,  however, the perspective lacked much of what was said during the meeting,  and with the very inaccurate bold headline this obviously leads to a vast misinterpretation of our intent.
