Fire damages park playground

The playground in Marysville City Park was damaged in a fire on Friday night. According to Marysville assistant fire chief Joe Pilsl, firefighters responded to the blaze at about 11:30 p.m. and spent about 30 to 45 minutes at the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown. On Monday morning, Police Chief Todd Ackerman met with personnel from the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office to further investigate the fire.

A $500 cash reward is being offered by the Marysville Police Department for information and evidence leading to the conviction of anyone who caused the Dec. 27 fire that damaged the playground at Marysville City Park.

Police Chief Todd Ackerman said the fire remained under investigation early this week.
