Blizzard cleanup

Snow was piled in downtown Marysville early Monday during cleanup from Sunday’s blizzard, which caused vehicle slideoffs and power outages early in the day. Total snowfall was 7.5 inches in Marysville. Drifts temporarily closed U.S. Highway 36 and Kansas Highway 99 in eastern Marshall County. Story on page 2.

The first blizzard of the winter weather season was handled without major problems by a variety of organizations from first responders and the Kansas Army National Guard to road crews and utility workers.

According to the Marysvile Water Plant, the storm dropped 7.5 inches of snow.
